Many roads lead to Gasthof Salzstadl in the Ehrenberg Castle World
In the far northwest of Tyrol, right on the border with Bavaria, lies the Ehrenberg Castle World. It's in the immediate vicinity of the legendary royal castles of Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau, and Linderhof, as well as the world-famous Zugspitze.

Arriving by car
From Ulm
Take the A7 motorway to the end of the state border. Through the Füssen border tunnel, you'll reach the B179, which is toll-free and exempt from the motorway vignette. Follow the Fernpass road to Reutte and take the fourth exit, "Burgenwelt Ehrenberg."
Distance: approx. 140 km
From Munich
Take the A95 to Eschenlohe, then continue on the B2 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Take the B23 Fernpass/Reutte exit and continue via Grainau – Ehrwald – Lermoos onto the B179.
The new "Burgenwelt Ehrenberg" exit is located directly after the railway underpass near the salt silo. This section is also toll-free and free of motorway tax.
Distance: approx. 130 km
Tip (spring–autumn):
A particularly scenic alternative leads from Eschenlohe via Oberau – Oberammergau – Ettal – Linderhof Palace – Ammerwald – Plansee to Reutte. There, turn left onto the B179 and after about 1 km, take the "Burgenwelt Ehrenberg" exit.

From Switzerland
Variant 1 (Arlberg Tunnel):
From Zurich via the A14 to Bludenz, through the Arlberg tunnel (S16, toll), continue via the A12 to Imst, then onto the B189 and finally the B179 towards Reutte.
Exit “Burgenwelt Ehrenberg” at the salt silo.
Distance: approx. 280 km
Option 2 (toll-free):
From Zurich via Dornbirn/Lustenau – A14 – A96 (Germany) – B12 towards Kempten – A980 – A7 towards Füssen. Through the Füssen border tunnel onto the B179, exit "Burgenwelt Ehrenberg."
Distance: approx. 250 km
From Italy
Variant 1 (burner):
From Bolzano via the A22 – Brenner – Innsbruck – A12 to Mötz – continue on the B189 and B179 towards Reutte.
Exit “Burgenwelt Ehrenberg” at the salt silo.
Distance: approx. 210 km
Variant 2 (Reschen Pass):
From Bolzano via the Reschen Pass – Landeck – Imst – Fernpassstraße B179 to Reutte.
Exit “Burgenwelt Ehrenberg” at the salt silo.
Distance: approx. 220 km

E-charging stations
Charge your electric vehicle while exploring the attractions of the Ehrenberg Castle World. The charging stations are located opposite the Salzstadl restaurant, directly in front of the Old Barracks. There is an additional charge for using the charging stations in addition to the parking fee.

Arriving by bus
The Burgenwelt Ehrenberg is easily accessible by public transport – on weekdays with the
regional bus line 9 and line 150 :
From Reutte train station:

6x daily with the regional bus 150 to the stop Reutte Abzweigung Ehrenberger Klause

NEW: 5x daily with the regional bus 9 directly to the Ehrenberg Visitor Center stop

The return journey to Reutte is also possible 5 times a day with line 9 .
From the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena (Line 9):
